Reyhaneh Park

Rihaneh Park is a designated space for women in the 22nd district of Tehran, located on the eastern side of Chitgar Park. The area is considered the future breathing space of Tehran due to the presence of elements such as Chitgar Lake, Forest Park, and the National Botanical Garden of Iran. It has a trans-regional function and is important to the city in terms of tourism, entertainment, and culture.

In the eastern section of the site, a centralized space was created due to its separate and desirable access, as well as the allocation of the site to sports fields in the first phase of the project. The aim was to include various sports areas such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, skateboarding, and playgrounds, with the vision to turn Bostan into the largest women’s sports campus in Tehran. Moreover, a part of this sports complex has been reserved for a children’s playground. The natural features of the site, including its topography, have been used to design the playground, and special elements have been incorporated to enhance children’s interaction and coexistence with nature. An atmosphere that is lively and engaging has been created in this section of the site, with a focus on all age groups.

Plaza

The Plaza has been designed to provide a space for social interactions, with furniture and interactive dynamic walls aimed at promoting the sense of participation among people in the environment. The goal is to increase social interactions and provide a favorable public space, especially for women. One of the approaches being considered for the design of this space is the redesign of the walls in the existing buildings. This can be achieved by improving the visual quality, creating rhythm using flooring and the shape of the walls, using diverse and joyful colors, and implementing innovative forms. Additionally, there is a focus on enhancing the performance of sports spaces and utilizing natural elements of the site.

Greenhouse

Given the increasing popularity of traditional medicine, medicinal plants, and herbal teas, there is a plan to construct a greenhouse next to the walking path. This greenhouse will feature a clear volume and inviting landscaping, and will be used to grow medicinal plants with therapeutic properties. Alongside this, there will be counseling and training regarding the properties of medicinal and indoor plants, as well as planting, maintaining, and selling them. The aim is to promote health education and create economic opportunities by preparing herbal teas.

Library

To incorporate an educational space in the garden without constructing any roofed areas, a library is proposed to be built with a lightweight, flexible, and transparent structure that blends in with nature. The library will be located in a secluded area away from the bustling activity of the site. The design will be spatially flexible, allowing the audience to choose between reading inside or outside the library, with the option to open or close the structure to adapt to different seasons. Placing the library in the middle part of the site, amidst natural topography, will provide the peace and quiet needed for studying, away from the noise and crowds of other parts of the site. The use of moving glass boxes will convey the feeling of being in nature to the audience and integrate the indoor and outdoor spaces.

We have designed all the spaces in the garden to be transparent, flexible, and directly connected with the surrounding nature. Moreover, we have utilized all the trees on the site to achieve an ideal symbiosis between architecture and nature.

Gallery

There is a gallery located in the garden, designed to meet cultural and educational needs. The space is specifically designed to introduce visitors to Iranian culture and art, with inspiration from Iranian architecture and innovative designs that represent identity. The project has been transformed into an extroverted and transparent space that invites people inside and provides a sense of peace and security with its enclosed space. The outer part is blended with nature, and natural elements such as water and plants are incorporated into the design.

Swimming Pool

There are another flexible spaces in this complex, including an outdoor pool located in the western part of the site. The pool is spacious in the middle and has flexible walls, which allows for the possibility of enclosing it during hot seasons for swimming and opening it up to connect the inside and outside spaces during cold seasons. The pool area has a beautiful view and is suitable for all seasons. One of the key features of this outdoor pool is its minimum enclosure, maximum privacy, and security, which is achieved by using walls, canopies, and trees to block the view from the buildings around it.The garden area has been designed keeping in mind the needs of people of all age groups and abilities. Ramps and low stairs have been included to make it easy for the elderly, children, and disabled to move around. There are attractive elements in all routes to encourage people, especially women, to walk and relax. Pedestrian and bicycle paths have also been included for people to enjoy nature. Sustainable materials like wood, brick, and concrete have been used to ensure the stability of buildings and compatibility with the environment. The use of colored glass and solid walls adds to the beauty of the area. The space around the walls has been turned into an educational space. This approach has been followed to design the complex.
